Structured Settlement are an extraordinary negotiation option which offers tremendous advantages to both plaintiffs and defendants.

All litigators who have cases involving questions of assessing life expectancy, assessment of future damages, loss of earning capacity and the like should have a working knowledge of this type of settlement.

Profile of the Instructors
Me John P. Rousseau
John Rousseau is a Principal in the firm of McKellar Structured Settlements Inc., Canada's oldest and largest structured settlement provider.

He obtained his LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1986, winning the Treasurer's Medal for standing first among the lawyers called to the bar that year. He has since obtained his LL.M. (Cantab.), M.B.A. (Wilfrid Laurier), and C.S.S.C. (Notre Dame).

Between trips back to school, he practised personal injury law until 1994 when he joined McKellar. He is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and a Level II licensed life agent in Ontario and several other provinces.

He has been involved in arranging thousands of structured settlements over the past fifteen years. He has given expert evidence on structured settlements in several provinces and has presented numerous papers on various aspects of structured settlements at continuing legal education seminars across Canada.



Me Colleen A. Weber
Colleen A. Weber joined McKellar Structured Settlements Inc. in 1989 and is a Principal in the firm. She is a Level II Licenced Life Insurance Agent in Ontario.

Colleen completed the Professional Certification Program conducted by the National Structured Settlement Trade Association to attain the Certified Structured Settlement Consultant (CSSC) designation through Notre Dame University in 2000. Colleen obtained a diploma in Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2002 and a Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) designation in 2004.

Colleen has over 20 years experience in the structured settlement industry. She attends settlement meetings and mediations. Colleen arranges structures for tort and accident benefits settlements. She has provided seminars throughout the insurance industry and legal community relative to the benefits of structured settlements.

Colleen is a member of the Chartered Insurance Professionals' Society and National Structured Settlements Trade Association (NSSTA).
